The curated assortment contains an exquisite enameled orchid brooch by Paulding Farnham, natural pearl jewelry, a fine unheated Burmese ruby and diamond twin ring, and numerous other examples exhibiting the exemplary craftsmanship of this age. Select examples from the Estate of Anastasia Smaguine display the aesthetic so en vogue to discerning collectors; the majority obtained during her time living in Paris and dating from the 1950s and 60s.
Fine natural colored gemstones and pearls feature prominently in the sale. A superb and rare three strand graduated natural saltwater pearl necklace is especially notable for its expert matching, high luster and beautiful overtones ($30,000/50,000). Another single strand graduated natural saltwater pearl necklace reaches an impressive length of 59 inches, containing an assortment of highly lustrous pearls featuring strong rose and green overtones. A highlight of the collection is an excellent unheated Burmese star ruby ring ($60,000/80,000). The auction contains a wide array of fine natural and untreated Ceylon sapphires including stones ranging in size from 4.00 to 38.00 carats.
Encompassing a vast assortment of shape, color, clarity and carat size, the December session exhibits a varied and high quality diamond collection.
