Leslie Hindman Auctioneers will conduct their spring Important Jewelry and Timepieces sales on April 19 and 20. The Important Jewelry sale will include over 1,200 lots while the Fine Timepieces sale will offer a varied selection of vintage and contemporary watches. In addition to a range of signed jewelry, the collection will feature an impressive selection of certified colored stones and diamonds. The timepieces collection includes a number of desirable Rolex wristwatches.
The Important Jewelry auction includes numerous single owner collections that feature unique diamonds and colored stones. A representative example to be offered is an Art Deco platinum, Burmese sapphire and diamond ring containing an antique cushion cut sapphire of extraordinary color, weighing approximately 6.00 carats within a surround of old European cut diamonds weighing approximately 1.31 carats. The ring is estimated at $30,000-50,000.
Anchoring the timepieces group is a stainless steel ref. 6239 “Paul Newman” Daytona Cosmograph wristwatch, Rolex, Circa 1969, with its original box and papers. The watch features impeccable provenance and is one of the most sought after collectible Rolex references and carries an attractive $50,000-70,000 estimate.
