Leslie Hindman Auctioneers is pleased to offer property from the Mary Griggs Burke collection in our July 17 and 18 Fine Furniture, Decorative Arts and Silver auction. Mary Griggs Burke (1916-2012) bequeathed the Burbank-Livingston-Griggs house to the Minnesota Historical Society in 1968 for use as a museum. The Society operated the museum until 1996 when it deaccessioned and sold the house; the contents were deaccessioned in 2016.

The Burbank-Livingston-Griggs house, now on the National Register of Historic Places, was built in Saint Paul in 1862-1865. Mrs. Burke’s mother, Mary Livingston Griggs, supplied the house with imported European furnishings and Old Master paintings in the 1930s. More than 200 lots from the collection will be offered.
