The three day Important Jewelry auction at Leslie Hindman Auctioneers will be conducted September 10 – 12 and feature strong sessions of round and fancy shaped diamonds, colored stones and many signed highlights. The sale is comprised of numerous large, private jewelry collections carefully curated within the sale. This includes the cover lot, a silver topped gold, Burmese ruby and diamond bib necklace estimated at $28,000 – 38,000.


Also from private collections are numerous signed examples of popular design such as a group of four 18 karat yellow gold, platinum and diamond bangle bracelets by Van Cleef & Arpels. They carry an estimate of $20,000 – 30,000. A diamond “Serpenti” bracelet by Bvlgari will be offered with an estimate of $18,000 – 22,000 as well as an 18 karat yellow gold curb link bracelet by Verdura estimated at $8,000 – 12,000.


Property from private collections and elsewhere have built strong sessions of Verdura, Cartier, David Webb, Van Cleef & Arpels and Tiffany within the sale. Highlights of the signed collections include a Verdura staple: an 18 karat yellow gold, amethyst, peridot, diamond and enamel “Maltese Cross” cuff bracelet estimated at $28,000 – 38,000. The Tiffany session includes iconic examples by Angela Cummings and Schlumberger in addition to a large pair of diamond hoop earclips with interchangeable white and yellow gold pendants. The pair is estimated at $7,000 – 9,000. A Cartier 18 karat yellow gold and diamond “Love” bracelet will be offered at $17,000 – 24,000 and an 18 karat yellow gold, platinum and diamond bracelet by David Webb will be offered at $9,000 – 11,000.


Numerous examples of both signed and unsigned jewelry are from the early 20s – 30s, including an art deco platinum, emerald and diamond ring by Tiffany & Co. ($4,000 – 6,000) and an art deco platinum, diamond and sapphire brooch by Cartier ($3,000 – 5,000). Also offered from the period are a brooch, earclips and ring from Marsh & Co., all using blackened steel with materials such as diamonds and cultured pearls. Unsigned items include a platinum, ruby and diamond art deco brooch, estimated at $8,000 – 12,000, and an art deco platinum, sapphire and diamond bracelet estimated at $22,000 – 28,000.


Diamonds and colored stones also lead the sale. Highlights include a fine platinum and diamond ring containing an oval brilliant cut diamond weighing approximately 6.13 carats and flanked by two pear shaped diamonds. It carries an estimate of $140,000 – 160,000. Colored stones include a fine platinum, Montana sapphire and diamond ring of which the rarity in color and size have the ring estimated at $18,000 – 22,000 and an 18 karat yellow gold, emerald and diamond ring estimated at $12,000 – 18,000.
