Once known to a scant few, the work of Madame Belperron is now revered not only for her beautiful and sophisticated jewels but also the incredible impact she has had on jewelry design to this day.  From the outset of her career when the avant-garde angularity of the Art Deco period was the design standard, Suzanne Belperron embraced sweeping curves instead, often painstakingly carving chalcedonies and rock crystal into organic shapes accented with gems that captivated her devoted followers.  We are pleased to offer a rare suite of four pieces from the beloved designer in our upcoming September sale.  Most notable are a pair of dress clips that combine Belperron’s carving work in grey-blue chalcedony with subtly bright green beryl in a bold sculptural design.  Together with complementary bead necklace, earclips and ring, the suite is an important representation of the artist’s work.
