The Collection of David and Gail McRorie represents an odyssey of collecting and over three decades of enjoyment. Both Mr. and Mrs. McRorie are accomplished professionals and have been active community members in the Kansas City, Missouri and Louisville, Kentucky areas, but during their more than thirty years of marriage the couple has also kept homes in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, Savannah, Georgia and Cashiers, North Carolina, taking great pleasure in filling each home with furniture and works of art to suit the spirit of that region.

Gail McRorie, a graduate of and generous benefactor to Washburn University, built her career as a consultant and Senior Manager at Price Waterhouse before founding Supply Chain Solutions, Inc. in 1999. The company provided logistics and fulfillment services with warehouses in Overland Park, Kansas and Louisville, Kentucky, employing over 400 people at one time. Soon after marrying in 1983, Mr. and Mrs. McRorie honeymooned in Hilton Head Island and became enamored with the beaches of the low country. They would eventually build a magnificent Mediterranean-style home using limestone imported from Lecce, Italy on a parcel of land with 230 feet of oceanfront. Their other homes in the cities and the Blue Ridge Mountains offered the McRories additional opportunities to build on their collection.

We are honored to have the opportunity to work with Mr. and Mrs. McRorie. Works of art and jewelry from their collection will also be offered in our American & European Art auction on May 24, 2017 and our Fine Jewelry & Timepieces auction on April 23-24, 2017.
